Abstract
Domesticity is the demarcation from some of the most radical society-shaping forms of politics. With works such as IKEA Disobedients we want to mobilize the political potential of domesticity. The project challenges the insidious notions of neat and nuclear urban domesticity promoted by the IKEA catalogue by initiating a socially engaged art/architecture project that explores the variety of complex domestic arrangements that form the decidedly messier foundation of our urban lives.
